ART
The Art program is designed to help students acquire the necessary skills, knowledge and understanding to express their talents through art. This process will encourage the development of their perception, judgment, creativity and imagination. The students will learn basic art concepts through a progression of age appropriate projects, using a wide variety of media.BAND
Students will learn the fundamental skills needed to play in a band setting. The teacher will develop the student as a musician, through practice and by playing a wide variety of music, to help the student perform to the best of his/her ability. This course is offered to fifth grade only.COMPUTER (TECHNO – KIDS)
The Computer course is designed to develop computer skills at the early age of kindergarten five. Elementary Computer is a building block that goes through the fifth grade. Computer is a resource lab that reinforces the students’ knowledge for every grade level .In Kindergarten, students are introduced to educational computer games that build motor and analytical skills. They will also begin doing basic keyboarding. Students in 1st through 5th grades undertake a series of projects that teach various computer skills and programs while learning facts that will support their overall education. Each project is designed to allow the students to work in cooperation with other students in doing research on the Internet, documenting their findings in databases they create, typing their results (word processing) and sharing their results in multi-media presentations.LIBRARY
In the Library students are introduced to the world of books. Students in Pre-Kindergarten through second grade have the opportunity to check out books weekly. They may choose from picture books, early readers, beginning chapter books, non-fiction books and biographies. Students in third through fifth grades learn how to locate a book using computer software cataloging system. Weekly check out encourages students to choose a variety of books throughout the school year.MUSIC
In the Music program, the students are exposed to a wide range of music including Classical, Jazz and other types of Contempary Music, World Music, Folk songs, Hymns and Spiritual Songs. The students experience and create music with the goal to sing on pitch and read music by the time they finish fourth grade.SPANISH (Rosetta Stone)
Spanish is introduced to the students using the Rosetta Stone software. Rosetta Stone is the world’s leading language learning software.
